I don’t usually take this kind of pictures. I hope these are good to look at. There is some post-processing done. Full set can be found here.

I don’t have a macro lens. But I have a Kenko extension tube set. I’m afraid I should have used a smaller aperture.

Well, actually I just took pictures in the free area and the canal outside.

Along the canal there are hotels. It sounds great to stay there. However, the canal is too quiet. There don’t seem to have many events arranged there.

Well, there is a photo contest. So, I went there again. For full set, see the pictures starting with this one.

This is one of my earliest pictures, which got me into photography. It’s taken with a Canon S5IS.

So, the state fair in Minnesota is said to be the biggest in the US. I went with friends and took some pictures. There are a lot of freshly-made food to eat, games to play, and you may see sheep or other animals giving birth to their babies. (But I didn’t see that because there were too many people and my lens is too long for that purpose.) I was carrying the heavy camera and lens around for more than 5 hours. But it’s good to know that people like my pictures of them (not showed here). As you may tell, the fair had a festive spirit.

Milk from here is all you can drink for $1.

It’s here you can see the animals giving birth.

Are they born on that day? I don’t know.

This lady has her birthday that day!

Turkey drumstick. It’s huge!

There are many nice things to buy.

Again, lots of food. But I actually didn’t eat much, partly because they are expensive. Can you believe it? A big cup of lemonade (more like water plus fresh lemons) is US$7!

Probably they were screaming but nobody could hear on the ground.

One purpose of taking pictures of them is to test how fast-focusing my camera can be. It does the job very well!

There is a flower competition, too.

These are sculptures made with BUTTER. The sculptor is there occasional to fix them. The sculptor is doing this with a real-live model, as in below.

She likes having pictures taken. Or maybe she mistakenly thought that I was a professional photographer who is going to put her pictures on some magazine.

Car racing game.

This lady is busy making cookies.

A visit to Minnesota Zoo. This state zoo is one of the smallest that I have seen. No giraffe, no rhino, no elephant, no lion, etc. The pond for flamingos is so small. Is it because it’s too cold there in winter? Full set with bigger image size can be found here.
